Key terms

Letter size
A common North American paper size measuring 8.5 ร— 11 inches.

Page dimensions and file size are different

This tool scales selected pages onto A4, Letter, Legal, A3, A5, or custom dimensions. Choose portrait or landscape and set margins to control where the original content sits on the new page.

Changing the paper size does not necessarily reduce the number of bytes. If an image-heavy document is too large for email, use the PDF compressor and verify readability separately.

Check printing and annotations

Scaling can change the apparent size of text, handwriting, and form annotations. Print a sample page or inspect the output at 100% zoom if margins and physical size matter.

The PDF stays in the browser during processing. Keep the original so you can try a different preset if a diagram or page edge is clipped or too small.
