Formula

GPA = sum[(grade points + entered weighting bonus) × course credits] ÷ included credits. Cumulative GPA adds previous GPA × previous credits to the quality points before dividing by total credits.

Worked example

A 4-point grade in a 3-credit course and a 3-point grade in a 4-credit course produce (4 × 3 + 3 × 4) ÷ 7 = 3.4286, rather than counting both courses equally.

What the result means

Supports custom point scales, optional example letter mapping, credit weights, entered course bonuses, exclusions, and previous GPA/credits. Schools differ in repeat-course, pass/fail, weighting, and rounding policies.
